General Pediatric & Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Narayana children hospital is a modern 10 -bed unit fully equipped to care for newborn infants with complex medical and surgical problems. The nursery is a Level III unit & is staffed by an array of specially trained & certified physicians, nurses, & other consultant specialists. The NICU is one of the best equipped of its kind in the region.
The NICU is successfully managing newborns with
- Extreme prematurity (early as 28 weeks of gestation and as small as 700 grams of weight),
- Newborns with severe respiratory distress (including HMD, MAS and PPHN)
- Meconium aspiration syndrome requiring High Frequency Oscillation, and Nitric Oxide
- Neonatal Jaundice and Kernicterus
- Early and Late Neonatal Sepsis
- Complex birth defects, congenital heart diseases and surgical problems.
- Complex Systemic and Metabolic problems.
