| Introduction |
Department of Lab Medicine, Narayana Hrudayalaya has a state of the art clinical lab completely operational since inception of the hospital located on the second floor in the Thrombosis Research Institute building of the entire health city. The laboratory functions 24hrs a day with emphasis on accuracy, precision, reproducibility and prompt reporting.
The clinical laboratory is a well equipped laboratory capable of providing a complete range of investigations in the area of Biochemistry, Hematology& Clinical Pathology, Microbiology, Serology, and Histopathology.
The laboratory has equipments like Siemens RXL Max & RXL Max suit-chemistry analyzer, Centaur XP for immunoassay, D-10 HPLC for Glyco Hb, Mini Vidas, Davinci-Quattro- fully automated ELISA processor, LH-750-5 part differential cell counters, CA 1500 fully automated coagulation analyzer, Uriplus 900- fully automated urine analyzer, BD-SEDI automated ESR analyzer, Bact alert-240 Blood culture unit, Vitek II, Mini Api sensitivity reader, BN Pro spec, LEICA TP 1020- tissue Processor, EICA EG 1150 h- tissue Embeddor, LEICA RM 2125 RT Microtome for section cutting etc. The presence of higher end automated analyzers and Laboratory Information System have ensured that the processes are completely automated and faster Turn around Time.
Department of Lab Medicine is equipped with the “Cross building Pneumatic system” to transfer samples for lab testing from one building to another. It plays an important role in saving time thus reduces the Turn around Time. The department performs on an average 5000-5500 tests on average 600-650 specimens a day. |
