The Narayana Institute of Neurosciences was dedicated to the nation in 2004 by then President Prof. Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam. It caters to patients with a wide variety of neurological problems. The mission of Narayana Institute of Neurosciences is to provide top-notch treatment for patients with Neurological disorders at an affordable cost. The Neurosciences department hopes to deliver cutting edge, state of the art Neurological services on par with the best in the world.
It is the Neurosciences wing of Narayana Hrudayalaya Institute of Medical Sciences, being developed as a Health City by its visionary chairman Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty.
Neurosurgery Services Division of Narayana Institute of Neurosciences is equipped with two dedicated state-of-the-art Operating rooms, Neurosurgical intensive care unit and established neuro-rehabilitation program incorporated in the inpatient care.
Team of five consultant Neurosurgeons with expertise in various dimensions of advanced microneurosurgical techniques are backed with a dedicated team of support staff.

The Director of the Narayana Institute of Neurosciences is renowned for being a multifaceted personality with many accomplishments to his name.
After training in Neurosurgery at the prestigious National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore, he served as the faculty of NIMHANS and rose to the position of Additional Professor of Neurosurgery.
He worked in NIMHANS for over 20 years during which he was instrumental in initiating Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery.
He also did a fellowship in skull base surgery in Washington D.C.
Dr. Hegde has performed several thousand Neurosurgical procedures.
He has authored 30 scientific publications in leading journals and has contributed chapters to a book on the history of neurosciences.
Recognized by the Lions Club of Bangalore as an ‘Outstanding Citizen’, he visited USA and Canada on a special exchange program from the Rotary International.
He was invited by the Vatican to speak at an International Meeting at the Vatican City and had a special audience with the POPE His Holiness John Paul II.
Dr. Hegde's interests include Stereotactic and Functional surgery, Spinal surgery and fusions, Neurotrauma, Neuro-endoscopy and Neuro-oncology.

Completed his Neurosurgical training from the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) Thiruvananthapuram, an institute of National importance, regarded as one of the best in the country. He also underwent training at NIMHANS, Bangalore in management of traumatic brain injuries.
A rank holder from the Mysore Medical College, Dr. Komal has a special interest in Quality of healthcare from his postgraduate days at Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubli and Senior Residency at the prestigious Jawaharlal Institute for Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Pondicherry.
He is an assessor for National Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH), Quality Council of India. He also holds with distinction, a postgraduate diploma in Hospital and healthcare management (PGDHHM).
His areas of interest include, Epilepsy surgery, Neurovascular surgery, Neuro-oncology, Neuro-endoscopy, and Spinal surgery. |

Dr. Kiran did his neurosurgery training from Bombay Hospital, Mumbai and senior residency from NIMHANS, Bangalore. He then joined Amrita institute of medical sciences, Kochi as faculty and went on to become associate professor there. An alumnus of Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, he completed his master’s in surgery from Mysore Medical College. His interest and expertise include skull Base Surgery, Pediatric Neurosurgery, advanced spine techniques and Image guided surgeries. |

| He did his neurosurgery training at Post Graduate Institute (PGI), Chandigarh, one of the premier institutes of the nation. He then worked at Apollo hospital, Bangalore, for a year before joining here in 2008. His interests are functional neurosurgery with stereotaxy for movement disorders, image guided surgery, endoscopic surgery, skull base, vascular, spine instrumentation. His other interest include holistic approach to health and patient care especially yoga and pranayama as an adjunct to rehabilitation. |

| Trained in Neurosurgery from the premier All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Dr.Ganesh had his Master’s in Surgery from Lokamanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Mumbai. Vascular, endoscopic, minimally invasive, skullbase neurosurgeries are his fields of interest. |
