INTRODUCTION
Nuclear medicine is a specialty that uses injectable pharmaceuticals diagnosis and treatment of disease. The radiopharmaceuticals once administered to the patient localize specific organs or cellular receptors and emit energy by the process of radioactive decay. This unique ability of radiopharmaceuticals allows nuclear medicine physician to diagnose or treat a disease based on the cellular function and physiology. Nuclear Medicine has a wide range of uses that cover all parts of the body.

| Our Facilities |
| GE PET CT , Discovery STE |
| This state of art PET CT system is a truly integrated PET/CT designed to improve clinical results and streamline workflow. Combined PET/CT offers a crucial advantage over separate PET and CT
imaging systems in correlating functional and anatomic images. PET/CT is the most comprehensive diagnostic tool in oncologic imaging. PET imaging with 18F-FDG (Fluorine 18-Fluoro-deoxy Glucose) diagnoses, stages, and restages many cancers with accuracies ranging from 80% to 90%. Responses to therapy can be identified earlier and with greater accuracy than is possible with anatomic imaging modalities. 18F-FDG PET is used in the appropriate clinical setting for the diagnosis of head and neck, lung, or pancreatic cancer and for unknown primary tumour. PET is also indicated for staging of oesophageal, head and neck, and lung cancer and of lymphoma and melanoma. In addition, 18F-FDG PET is used to detect recurrence of breast, colorectal, head and neck, or thyroid cancer and of lymphoma. |
| GE SPECT CT, Infinia Hawkeye |
| This dual detector advanced SPECT/CT system provides the ability to generate inherently registered Hawkeye CT Transmission Attenuation Correction and Functional Anatomic Mapping. The added benefit of SPECT CT include attenuation correction, detection of more clinically relevant lesions, better localization of disease and differentiation between physiologic and pathologic uptake. |

| Rare Cases |
| Bone SPECT CT |
| This 74 yrs old male patient of carcinoma prostate was referred for 99mTC MDP bone scan with complaints of low back ache. Whole body scan shows focal area of increased tracer uptake in the D11, L1 and L2 vertebrae. Hybrid SPECT CT images localize increased tracer uptake to sclerotic lesion in the body of D11 vertebra, and osteolytic changes in L1, L2 vertebrae. Scan findings are suggestive of metastatic involvement. |
| Cardiac SPECT CT |
Extensive ischemia in the LAD and RCA territory in a male patient evaluated by MPS for chest pain.
| Parathyroid SPECT CT |
Sestamibi SPECT CT depicting right inferior parathyroid adenoma |
| PET CT |
Whole body FDG PET CT in a patient with lung cancer showing the hyper metabolic lung tumour with no nodal or distant metastasis thereby enabling curative resection.
