Physiotherapy Department:

The department of Physiotherapy began in 12th April 2001 and at present running with 38 staff therapists and 6 trainees. It is headed by a specialist, Dr Sakaram Vijeendran PT, who has 17 years of experience in this field.

In the last seven years since starting, patients from all over the world, national and international, have been rehabilitated. Dr S Vijeendran PT

We have a well-equipped Electrotherapy unit and an exercise room. The department of Physiotherapy is also actively involved with teaching programmes for in house Nursing students as well as short practical courses for UG and PG Physiotherapy students from various colleges in and around Karnataka.

ACADEMICS
Hands-on Training (15 days):
These courses are meant for graduates (BSc) in Physiotherapy. We run a 15 days long course which allows observership of the practical aspects of Physiotherapy techniques as well as clinical hands on skills in Physiotherapy. We encourage candidates to prepare an observership report at the end of the course. There is a modest course fee and no more than 6 candidates are taken every month to encourage personalized attention. Candidates are encouraged to apply by email to the consultants along with a copy of their CV at least 3 months before intending to join.

Short practical courses (1 month):
These courses are meant for graduates (BSc) in Physiotherapy. We run a 30 days long course which allows observership of the practical aspects of Physiotherapy techniques as well as clinical hands on skills in Physiotherapy and preventive cardiac rehabilitation. We encourage candidates to prepare an observership report at the end of the course. There is a modest course fee and no more than 2 candidates are taken every month to encourage personalized attention. Candidates are encouraged to apply by email to the consultants along with a copy of their CV at least 3 months before intending to join.

Short practical courses (6 month):
These courses are meant for graduates (BSc) in Physiotherapy of international students. We run a 6 month long course which allows observership of the practical aspects of Physiotherapy techniques as well as clinical hands on skills in Physiotherapy in all areas like Out patient areas, Intensive Therapy Unit, pre and post operative wards, Neuro wards, preventive cardiac Rehabilitation and counseling. We encourage candidates to prepare an observership report at the end of the course. There is a modest course fee and no more than 2 candidates are taken to encourage personalized attention. Candidates are encouraged to apply by email to the consultants along with a copy of their CV at least 6 months before intending to join.
