Narayana Hrudayalaya Children’s Hospital aims to offer all infants high quality comprehensive care regardless of whether they can afford it or not. At present, the hospital offers neonatal surgery, pediatric surgery and pediatric urology services. In addition one pediatric intensive care unit of 20 beds with all support equipment and staff is operational. This is in addition to the extensive infrastructure available for the cardiac and cardiac surgery services. “Our principal aim is to develop the Woman & Child Hospital as the best in India. Safe deliveries are central to this project,” says Dr Ashley D’Cruz, Director & Senior Paediatric Surgeon.
The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Narayana Children's Hospital provides extraordinary high-level care for children who require continuous monitoring. The unit has 10 beds for infants and children up 18 years of age suffering from a variety of conditions or recovering from surgery. The High Dependency Unit has another 10 beds for continued care of these children after the critically ill phase. The PICU staff is experienced in treating the most life-threatening illnesses in children. PICU doctors also play a vital role in supporting children who require bone marrow transplantation, neurosurgery, complex pediatric surgery, chemotherapy, and other procedures.
