Urological Oncology is a sub-specialized branch of genito-urinary surgery. It deals with tumorous lesions of urinary and genital tract, and surrounding areas such as retro peritoneum and adrenal glands. These include tumours of kidneys, ureter, urinary bladder, penis, testis and prostate. Cancers of the genito–urinary system respond very well to early surgical treatment. Even in advanced cases they can be controlled for significant duration of time with non–surgical therapies like radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormone therapy and so on. These tumours can affect a wide age group, from children to elderly and generally during productive years and hence require prompt attention.
